Sub: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE DOCTORS AND ALL OTHER STAFF
PERFORMING DUTIES IN COMBATING COVID-19 PATIENTS
Kindly find enclosed herewith copy of minutes of 33rd meeting of Standing Committee on Finance & Development held on 16.04.2020 on the subject cited above.
2. Standing Committee of Cabinet on Finance and Development accorded following approval in its 33rd meeting held on 16.04.2020:
I. All staff that is performing duties related to COVID-19 patients shall be eligible to an honorarium equal to one month’s running pay per month till active presence of pandemic. Eligible Personnel shall be determined according to the following:
a.      From attendance register and notified rota orders; and
b. Head of the Department and concerned Medical Superintendent shall certify the final lists.
II. In case of the sad demise of any employee whether regular, adhoc, contractee, contingent paid staff or hired on Lump Sum package, after getting infected with COVID-19, while actively defraying his / her responsibilities in a healthcare establishment falling under administrative control of SHC&ME department, He/she shall be declared a “Shaheed” and his /her family shall be entitled to Shaheed package of one-time lump sum amount as under:
Basic Scale                    Financial Assistance Package I
BS 1 to BS-16              Rs. 4.00 Million
BS 17 & Above           Rs. 8.00 million
Ill. Package mentioned above shall be allowed on recommendations of the Committee for clinical & Mortality audit” for Corona cases, constituted vide letter No SO(PHP)9-149/2020 dated 27.03.2020.
IV. The dispensation indicated above may also be allowed for employees of Punjab Emergency Service, who are involved in direct handling, transport and rescue of suspected or infected COVID-19 patients.
3. Foregoing in view, Finance Department is requested to issue notification in the light of approval of Standing Committee on Finance & Development as per detail stated above w.e.f 01.04.2020 for the staff of SHC & ME Department and P & SHC Department, performing duties related to COVID-19 patients.
